Old Age Homes (Invalids' Homes)
Two separate homes for men and women are maintained. Residents include men – 31 and women – 57 as on 31st March 2021

 

Dairy
As on 31st March 2021 the dairy had 26 milch cows, 4 milch pregnant cows, 1 dry cow, 7 dry pregnant cows, 34 heifers (9 Pregnant) and 21 calves (16 female, 5 male) taking the total strength of cattle to 93. Average daily milk yield was about 382 liters which was used for our patients at hospital and other residents.

 

Ramnam Sankirtan
On Ekadasi days Ramnam Sankirtan is sung in the main office. Once during his stay in Varanasi, Swami Brahmanandaji Maharaj had a vision of Mahavir Hanuman attending the Ramanam held in the above premises.
Independence Day
On 15-08-2020 Flag Hoisting was in front of Main Hospital Gate behind the Nataraj Murti with the singing of National Anthem by the assembled monastics and other staff members.
Christmas Eve
On 24-12-2020 Christmas Eve was celebrated in the main office with Arati, Reading of Bible, Lecture on Life and Teachings of Christ (in Bengali & Hindi) and Carol Singing.
Republic Day Celebration
On 26-01-2021 Flag Hoisting was in front of Main Hospital Gate behind the Nataraj Murti with the singing of National Anthem by the assembled monastics and other staff members.
Swami Vivekananda Festival
On 07-02-2021 Swami Vivekananda's Birth Anniversary Celebration was held with special puja at Swamiji’s temple and Rogi Narayan Puja in the Hospital. Lunch Prasad was served to doctors, well-wishers.
Mahashivaratri Puja
On 11-03-2021 Mahashivaratri Puja was performed in Laveshwar Shiva Temple with Vedic Chanting, singing of hymns etc.
Development Works
On 31-03-2021 the following projects have been completed:
  • Ekanta Niwas – Construction of Staff Quarters with 6 Accommodations (G + 2 Floor). Total cost involved Rs.20.80 lakhs.
  • STP/ETP Plant – Installation of Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) for Hospital. Total cost involved Rs.27.06 lakhs.
  • Mortuary – Renovation of a dedicated room and installation of Freezer. Total cost involved Rs.5.75 lakhs.
  • Underground Cable Work – Removal of the overhead wires and electrification of the total Ashrama with underground cable network and new panels. Total cost involved Rs.2.12 Crores.
  • New 500 KVA Generator Set – purchase and installation Rs. 34.26 lakhs.

Free Eye Cataract (IOL) Operation Camp
IOL Camp was held in our hospital from 07.11.2019 to 11.11.2019 and 22.01.2020 to 15.02.2020. 647 patients were admitted, of which 582 were operated upon. Besides our five doctors, Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Dr. Radhika Chakraborty, Dr. Swati Kumari Singh, Dr. Vipin Kr. Singh & Dr. Rakesh Jaiswal ; Dr. Bhaskar Mukherjee & Dr. Sudipta Mitra of Kolkata and Dr. Arun Bhattacharya of Burdwan, W.B., performed the operations.
Mobile Dispensary
During the year 3 mobile medical units went to urban slums & villages near Varanasi and treated 28,743 cases in all.

Two separate homes for men and women are maintained. Residents include men – 37 and women – 62 as on 31st March 2020

 

Dairy
As on 31st March 2020 the dairy had 30 milch cows, 2 milch pregnant cows, 6 dry pregnant cows, 11 heifers (14 Pregnant) and 34 calves (25 female, 9 male) taking the total strength of cattle to 97. Average daily milk yield was about 335 liters which was used for our patients at hospital and other residents.

 

Ramnam Sankirtan
On Ekadasi days Ramnam Sankirtan is sung in the main office. Once during his stay in Varanasi, Swami Brahmanandaji Maharaj had a vision of Mahavir Hanuman attending the Ramanam held in the above premises.
Independence Day
On 15.08.2019 Flag Hoisting was done on Achalananda Bhavan’s Terrace with the singing of National Anthem by the assembled monastics and other staff members.
Nivedita Bhawan (in front of Oxygen Plant)
On 09.12.2019 at 10.30 a.m. it was inaugurated by Revered Swami Bodhasaranandaji Maharaj, Assistant General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math, Howrah-711202, W.B.
Christmas Eve
On 24.12.2019 Christmas Eve was celebrated in the main office with Arati, Reading of Bible, Lecture on Life and Teachings of Christ (in Bengali & Hindi) and Carol Singing.

  • 125th Anniversary of Chicago Address - Cultural Programmes was held on 25.9.2019 at the Swatantrata Bhavan Hall, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Average attendance in the programme was about 300.

Optical Unit
On 29.8.2018 at 10.00 a.m. a New Optical Unit was opened by Revered Swami Ramanandaji Maharaj for providing spectacles at subsidized rates to needy patients.

On 24.12.2018 Christmas Eve was celebrated in the main office with Arati, Reading of Bible, Lecture on Life and Teachings of Christ (in Bengali & Hindi) and Carol Singing.
USG
On 28.12.2018 at 9.30 a.m. a New Machine of USG was dedicated by Revered Swami Ramanandaji Maharaj for the service of the people.
Oxygen Generator
On 09.01.2019, Wednesday at 11.30 am. – New Oxygen Generator, for providing oxygen and suction facility to Indoor patients, was dedicated by Revered Swami Ramananda and Sri P. K. Sinha, Chairman cum Managing Director, Northern Coalfields Ltd., in the presence of monks, brahmacharins, volunteers, staff and other people.

As usual Christmas Eve was celebrated in the main office on 24.12.2016
Swami Vivekananda Festival
Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary celebration was held on 22.01.2017 with special puja at Swamiji’s temple and Rogi Narayan Puja in the Hospital. Lunch Prasad was served to doctors, well-wishers. About 3,500 people took Prasad that day.
Republic Day Celebration
On 26.01.2017 Flag Hoisting was done on the terrace of the Operation Theatre building with the singing of National Anthem by the assembled monastics and other staff members.
Free Eye Cataract (IOL) Operation Camp
IOL Camp was held in our hospital from 23.01.2017 to 16.02.2017. 642 patients were admitted, of which 598 were operated upon. Besides our three doctors, Dr. Radhika Chakraverty, Dr. Rupali Agarwal and Dr. Sujit Abhaykumar Deshmukh; Dr. Bhaskar Mukherjee and Dr. Sudipta Mitra of Kolkata and Dr. Arun Bhattacharya of Burdwan, W.B., performed the operations.
Mahashivaratri Puja
On 24.02.2017 Mahashivaratri Puja was performed in Laveshwar Shiva Temple with Vedic Chanting, singing of hymns etc.
Swachchha Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign)
Three cleanliness drives were conducted on 18.12.2016, 15.01.2017 and 26.02.2017 in each of which Sannyasins, Brahmacharins, inmates, staff members, students of Value Education Programme, volunteers and devotees numbering about 300 participated.
150th birth Anniversary Celebration of Sister Nivedita
Five music programmes were held on 25.12.2016, 22.01.2017, 23.02.2017, 26.02.2017 (also a Magic show) and 26.03.2017. Average attendance in these programmes was about 200.
Ramnam Sankirtan
On Ekadasi days Ramnam Sankirtan is sung in the main office. Once during his stay in Varanasi, Swami Brahmanandaji Maharaj had a vision of Mahavir Hanuman attending the Ramanam held in the above premises.
Non formal Coaching Center
Due to non-availability of adequate number of children, the Non-formal Coaching Center started in May 2007 had to be closed on 30.09.2016.
Eye Care Unit
Renovated Eye Care Unit at OPD Building was inaugurated on Thursday 4th February, 2016 at 11.00 am by Revered Swami Shaktyanandaji Maharaj.
Retired Monks Quarter 2nd Floor
Revered Swami Bodhasaranandaji Maharaj, Assistant General Secretary, Belur Math inaugurated the newly built Retired Monks Quarter 2nd Floor on 26th June 2016, Sunday at 7.30 a.m.
Special Cabins
New Cabins at the Renovated Male Ortho Surgical Ward of Hospital were inaugurated on 29th April 2017 at 9.30 am by Revered Swami Ramanandaji Maharaj.
Random Access Clinical Chemistry Analyzer & E.E.G
At OPD Block – Random Access Clinical Chemistry Analyzer & E.E.G machines were dedicated to the Sevashrama on 8th May 2017 at 10.30 am by Revered Swami Vishwatmanandaji Maharaj.
Vehicle Parking Place
For the Doctors, Inmates & Staffs of the Sevashrama, on the auspicious day of the Rath-Yatra (Sunday 25th June 2017), a Vehicle Parking Place near the ‘Rain-Basera’ was inaugurated by pulling a Chariot (Rath) by the Revered Swami Ramanandaji Maharaj at 6 p.m. on 25th June 2017.
A second Parking place at Main Gate near the maintenance building was also dedicated to the Sevashrama.
CC TV
CC TV cameras were installed around the Sevashrama Campus.
